About
This is my nerd cave. So expect nerd stuff mainly. Other stuff I've written elsewhere. If you want to get to know more about me join me in Western Germany for mug of tea or grain coffee. Or let's meet somewhere in Sweden or Denmark at the Baltic sea where I like to be for vacation.
I love the sea, open waters, being on the water, rowing, sailing, surfing.
Regarding tech: I like small, sustainable and free (libre) tech solutions like Gemini and the smol web. I'm not a terminal guy though. I enjoy beautiful graphical surfaces and user interfaces.
Regarding operating systems I'm a Mac user since 1992 and was a great fan of Mac OS X from 10.1 to 10.6. I used it until 10.15, then switched to use GNU/Linux mainly. UX wise I'd like to run a combination of Cocoa and elementary OS[1] which obviously does not exist right now.
Somehow it's a result of these considerations why I'm working on ObjGTK[2] to combine the power of Objective-C (by using ObjFW[3]) and popularity of GTK[4] on elementary OS[1].
I did a lot of web development and do some from time to time when needed.
Obviously I love the freedom of sources, the freedom of education and thus keep hacking 0100 freedom.[5]
The layout of these pages is inspired by ATYH.net[6], a Gemini page I really like.
